Many Nebraska Forests Open Again

Many of Nebraska's National Forests and Grasslands are reopening.

The US Forest Service is ending the closures that came for most of the 25,000 acres due to the late summer wildfires. Recent snow in the Panhandle helped with the fire risk. However, the drought is still extreme and restrictions will remain.

Visitors should still exercise caution in the areas as trees are still at risk to fall.
