The first ever Monument Marathon is on the books and already has people talking about next year.
The wind and rain didn't keep anyone away Saturday as more than 400 people ran in this year's inaugural event.
Runners even raved about the scenery and race track.
Organizers say volunteer participation also played a big role into making this event run smoothly.
"I think it went really well. I think we can definitely call it a success. We, despite the weather, we had extremely favorable comments from the participants."
Preparations have already begun for next year's event.
