She was found on the side of the road with burns covering her left side. Now, a kitten from Omaha named "Hope" is on the road to recovery.
Someone found this kitten last month with life threatening burns on the left side of her only pound and a half body.
For a while, no one was sure if the kitten would survive. Veterinarians say her skin required antibiotics and specialized wraps over the burn areas. It's a painful process to help replace the dead skin.
It's a process that shows strength and hope from a kitten not ready to use any of her nine lives.
"She'll have one good side, one different side but she'll make a full recovery," says Veterinarian Elizabeth Farrington.
Hope's recovery could take weeks to months, and the Nebraska Humane Society is not sure how the kitten got the burns.
