People in wheelchairs will soon have an easier time flying out of Western Nebraska.
The Western Nebraska Regional Airport in Scottsbluff is adding ramps to make planes handicap accessible.
The aiport will add two ramps, one for large planes and one for smaller planes.
Both ramps will cost a $100,000, airport director Darwin Skelton says they're putting in the ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act."
"There are ways of getting people on airplanes but it's not the safest way to do it. We have a lift that's very difficult to get up to the airplane."
The airport is also remodeling the northeast side of the terminal, at a cost of $900,000, both projects are expected to be complete by next year.
