One local group finds a great way to spend a nice Nebraskan afternoon throwing horseshoes.
People got together for an afternoon of friendly, yet fierce competition. The event was held to introduce people around the area to the game. Players of all skills levels came together to make this first time event a success.
"I don't care if you throw one ring out of 100 shoes, you know, you still get to come out and have a good time, that's what horseshoes is all about, it's a poor mans sport, it started out that way and I think it will continue to be that way."
Nelson says he was happy with the turn out and will continue to host tournaments in the future.
