Posted: Updated:

Plans are in the works to get more low-income Nebraska students to attend college.

Governor Dave Heineman and University of Nebraska President J.B Milliken kicked off "Collegebound Nebraska Week" this morning at the UNL campus.

The goal of this week's events are to show that qualified, low income students can attend college at one of university of Nebraska's campuses without paying tuition.

Under the program, a student from a family of four whose income is less than $53,000 will qualify for assistance.
