Democrats were hoping Nebraska's Senate race would be the beginning of Bob Kerrey's political revival.
But with Deb Fischer's emergence, its given her the clearest shot at taking a U.S. Senate seat away from the Democrats.
With two weeks until the election, Fischer has a clear lead.
Kerrey is a former Governor and U.S. Senator, and says he may spring a surprise soon.
Republicans need to get four seats to take control of the Senate if President Obama is re-elected and three seats if Mitt Romney wins.
