Parents are reminded every year to make sure their child safety seats are property installed.
Yet, most parents fail the test.
In fact, new research shows only 30 percent of parents are keeping their children secure.
That's why Western Nebraska Community College students and the Scottsbull Fire Department held a car seat safety check.
"Not only having the seat installed correctly in the vehicle but also the child secured in the seat is very important, we respond to several crashes where children get hurt because their seats are not properly installed."
Wallace says the best place for child is in the middle seat.
