One of the Riverside Discovery Center's biggest fundraiser of the year comes to a close.

"Spooktacular" wrapped up Tuesday night, and the five -day event drew more than four-thousand people through the gates.

For some people, attending the family friendly pre-Halloween festivities has been a tradition for many years.

"We've been coming here before (our)girls were ever born," explains Danielle Huff of Gering. "Actually, it's just kind of an annual thing and we just can't miss it."

And other families are excited to bring their kids to "Spooktacular" for the very first time.

"Well more than anything the kids," says Carlos Rubalcava, of Mitchell. "They get all excited because the shows. They talk about them at school, they get them all pumped up and they've been excited about it, so we decided to bring them along."

Executive Director Anne James says the proceeds from "Spooktacular" will help fund operational costs for the Discovery Center throughout the winter months.
