High School seniors ready to rock the vote

Posted: Updated:

Some high school students across the region are eager to exercise their right to vote for the first time on Tuesday.

Only a small percentage of high school students are 18 before the November election.

But students who *are* old enough to vote in this years highly contested presidential election say they are excited.

Scottsbluff senior Micah Yowell cast his ballot yesterday through early voting, and he says the presidential race is what matters most for him.

"I want to have a voice in our politics," explains Yowell. "And I want to make sure the right person will run this country and run it right."

"It's important to exercise your right to vote because every voice matters," adds SBHS Senior Channing Wills. "And tie breakers can come down to little things. So just one vote can mean the difference between one person and another."

Staff at the Scotts Bluff County Clerk's Office is  pleased that a large amount of first time voters both young *and* old alike, that registered to vote this fall.
