First State Bank's 2012 Gift of Love program kicks off today.
The program provides food, clothes and gifts to needy families in the valley this holiday season.
The program provided hundreds of families with a Christmas meal last year.
Today, the names of dozens of in-need children were placed on the "tree of love," so people can pick up the tag and buy that child gifts.
"Without the generosity, love and support of the community there would be so many more children in the community that would not have a great Christmas so we really challenge everybody to come help us do a little bit for them."
The Gift of love program also collects canned food for needy families through area schools.
