Platte Valley Companies give big gift to Vets

Posted: Updated:

Thanks to a generous donation KOTA Territory veterans won't have to worry anymore about how they're going to get to the Cheyenne Medical Center.

The Platte Valley Companies gave Scotts Bluff County Veterans Service Officer John Brehm a $14,000 check this morning.

The money will help purchase a new van to take veteran patients to the Cheyenne Veteran's Medical Center.

The van will belong to the Cheyenne V.A. Medical Center and they'll cover the insurance, maintenance and gas for trips.

Platte Valley C.E.O Hod Kosman says the company thinks it's important to support our veterans.

"Well they're a big part of our community. They're a part of why our country is free as we can all enjoy the freedom that we have."

The van travels to Wyoming three times a week transporting veterans to the V.A. in Cheyenne.

The van racked up more than 150,000 miles in about four years.
