Western Nebraska continues to be at high risk for wildfires

Posted: Updated:

The Nebraska Game and Parks Division wants to remind the public that the fire danger is still high.

With the extreme drought, fires are still a concern, especially in Western Nebraska.   The Spotted Tail Fire ignited outside Chadron just weeks ago.   The agency is also reminding hunters of ways to prevent fires.   They include avoiding roads with tall vegetation and never parking on them.

They also say it's a good idea for hunters to have a fire extinguishers and shovels in their vehicle.
