Lines not a big issue at the polls today

Posted: Updated:

For the most part, voters here in the Panhandle haven't had to wait too long to vote today.

People have been steadily coming in and out of the Gering Civic Center, most with smiles.

Lines have been steady all day but especially slow during lunch time.

Election day volunteers are out in force making sure everything goes smoothly.

"I would guess we had 75 to 80 people out here at 7:00 before we opened the doors.   And it was very heavy I felt between 7 and probably 10:30 or 11 and it has been steady all morning, especially busy in the earlier hours.   But it's been good."

Poll Workers say they expect lines to get busier as people get off work.

Don't forget polls close at seven tonight so there's still time to get out there!
