Scotts Bluff National Monument is giving the public a gift in the name of veterans.
National parks across the nation are observing Veterans Day by offering free entry this weekend.
For the first time the admission fees will be waived for everyone who visits, not just veterans.
The Fee Free weekend kicks off Saturday and goes through Monday.
Some other fee free parks in the area are the Agate Fossil Beds National Monument and Fort Laramie's National Historic Site.
Chief Park Ranger Tom Schaff says it's important for them to do this because the veterans have served our country.
"Well we want to recognize the effort, and the courage and the strength that veterans have done throughout our countries history."
Schaff says many of these national parks are directly related to military or military history.
