The Scottsbluff City Volunteers are getting a big lump sum for their programs.
The West Nebraska All Star Sports has given the Scottsbluff City Volunteer Center $2,500 to help fund their programs.
The center is funded through United Way but that doesn't cover all of their program's costs.
The volunteers run Meals on Wheels, shopping for senior citizens and Thanksgiving in the Valley, a thanksgiving dinner delivered to locals.
The Executive Director for the volunteer center, Jill Allen says without funding for the programs they wouldn't be possible.
"Just you know, we are funded from united way but we have additional expenses constantly and we have several programs in the community."
Allen says the center is thankful for the communities support so they can continue supporting the community.
