One Panhandle fire department gave out free breakfast today.
The Mitchell Fire Department is run completely by volunteer firefighters.
The department gave out a free and hearty breakfast this morning complete with sausage, eggs and pancakes.
But the annual breakfast doubles as a fundraiser, the department takes donations and this year they saw their biggest turn out yet.
Kenny Hendren, the club's President says this is the only fundraiser they do all year.
"Our budget consists of rural and city, and just budget cuts and everything, we have to do everything we can to keep our financial."
Hendren says the funds raised keep the station running through the year.
