City of Gering looks to put utility payments to golf course

Posted: Updated:

The City of Gering is considering a proposal to use utility funds from the nearby housing subdivision to help support the Monument Shadows Golf Course.

The golf course's financial struggles are nothing new, but according to city officials the course is now behind in payments by almost $100,000.

In addition there are no funds to pay for improvements on things such as ponds, sprinklers and golf carts.

There are 101 homes in the subdivision.
