Fans enjoy Nebraska football tradition on Friday after Thanksgiving

The Nebraska Cornhuskers continue their tradition of playing on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Nebraska and Iowa squared off this morning in Iowa City for the second straight year.

Fans across Husker Nation were riled up in hopes of seeing Nebraska clinch a spot in the Big-10 title game. But the final game of the regular season is more than "just another game."

The Huskers began their post-Thanksgiving game tradition back in 1990, when they played Big-8 rivals Oklahoma.

Many fans in western Nebraska say things got even better when they moved to the Big 12, and began playing against Colorado.

"For us in western Nebraska, it was almost like a home game to go to Boulder," says fan Travis Parker. "And we used to always watch them play. Now that's its Iowa it's a little bit different. Everybody in Nebraska is just trying to get used to it. I'm sure everybody in Iowa is trying to get used to it. It's just always been one of our traditions Friday after Thanksgiving- Nebraska football and family."

Nebraska defeated the Hawkeyes today, 13-7, and will now face the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big 10 Championship Game in Indianapolis.
