People in Panhandle feeling the Powerball frenzy

Posted: Updated:

"Good luck hun."

It's the old saying you have to be in it to win it.

"Today people have been buying a lot of tickets ... Bunches of tickets," says Jeff Hubbard.

Tickets that could hold the winning numbers to a staggering 500 million dollars.

People come in and buy like twenty dollars worth at a time instead or like one or two dollars at a time."

It's easy to see why.  Today alone the record powerball jackpot jumped 75 million in a matter of hours.

"They're kind of excited and every time they get a ticket they said they're going to split it.   Because I'm the one who sold them the ticket," says Sarah Macomber.

With the drawing still a day away, the pot is expected to continue to grow.   As of your chance of winning? Only 1 in 175 million, but it's worth a shot right?

"500 million dollars, man that's unfathomable, I'd be happy with a million."

All you need is a few dollars and a little luck, well maybe a lot of luck if you want to walk away with the 500 million dollar jackpot.   But the big question is, what would you do with all the money?"

"I'd probably retire, enjoy life to the fullest, be on vacation for a while."

"Probably give some to my parents and help take care of my parents."

All the more reason to buy a few tickets and join in the game.
