Days after the discovery of a body at the Scottsbluff Monument, Park Rangers want to remind the public that it's a safe place to be.
Signs are up throughout the park pointing visitors in the right direction and warning them of trouble spots. Park ranger Ken Mabery says 22–year old Cody Bindschadler's body was found beyond the fence line, past where visitors are supposed to be.
The mood has been somber around the Monument for a few days but Mabery wants to remind the public of the dangers associated with hiking, especially by yourself.
"National Parks and for us to enjoy nature they way nature intends herself to be viewed and there are some inherent risks to that."
Mabery also reminds people to stay within the boundries and to watch your footing at all times.
