For the Panhandle Humane Society, November is a month to think about adopting older dogs.
November has been a successful month for the Humane Society as the organization has found homes for most of its older animals.
Humane Society workers say sometimes older animals get lost in the mix when people go to look for a pet.
That's why this month is meant to give awareness to them.
Director Cathy McDaniel says there are many benefits of getting an older pet versus a puppy.
"Of course they're over their chewing stages, for the most part, hopefully they're house broken by then, most senior animals are, so the hardest things about puppy hood and kitty hood are over," says McDaniel.
To see some of the pets the Humane Society has to offer, you can drop by or check out the booth at the Farmers Market on Saturdays.
