Gering restaurant moving to Scottsbluff

The future of a popular barbeque joint in Gering is secured, despite a closing date on its marquee.

Gabe's Barbeque will be moving to Scottsbluff later this month.

In October, Platte Valley Bank bought the building from owner Kirk Arnold for $120,000.

Many barbeque lovers were concerned that the popular lunch spot would be no more.

But staff says they will take about two weeks to move shop north of the river into Scottsbluff, and re-open by years end.
