One Panhandle town has plans to expand its much needed housing.

Sidney's housing shortage is no new surprise and with the outdoor outfitter Cabela's residing in the town, there's a lot of employees who need a place to live.

Sidney officials have announced new plans for 480 Acres of land to be developed for hundreds of new homes, parks and commercial properties.

Sidney Regional Medical Center also has plans to build a new medical facility.

City officials estimate the project will take years and cost more than $400 million. Cabela's has nearly 2,000 employees in Sidney.
