Scottsbluff airport making final push for 10,000 boardings

Western Nebraska Regional Airport makes a final push for 10,000 boarding's for the year.

If Great Lakes Aviation hits the ten -thousand mark, the airport will receive one million dollars for capital improvement projects. If it doesn't, it will only receive $150,000.

The airport's goal hasn't been reached since 2008, despite coming close each year.

Airport Director Darwin Skelton says people need to start booking their flights to Denver in order for the airport to fund future projects. "We're really, really close," explains Skelton. "I hope that Great Lakes has a really good month."

Skelton says with current projections, boarding's will be about 50 short, but he's hopeful more people book more flights by New Years Eve.
