Congressman Adrian Smith has announced his nominations to the US Service Academies.
Each year members of congress nominate young people for admission to the US Service Academies. These include The Military Academy, The Naval Academy and The Air Force Academy. Applicants were evaluated on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement and personal interviews, among other things. Some of the applicants include Kimball's Brian Evertson and Kearney's Alex Lowe.
The complete list includes: Shane Bloom of Wilber, Seth Fosket of Aurora, Carson Homolka of Wilber, Seth Hunt of Merna, Josh Keller of Merna, Elkanah Riley of Ogallala, Jessica Schwaneback of Hyannis.
