Governor Dave Heineman greeted the Panhandle this morning talking about key issues for Nebraska and the nation.
Heineman spoke at the Scottsbluff–Gering United Chamber of Commerce breakfast. Heineman talked about forming relationships with China and believes rural Nebraska can play a large role with agriculture production.
Heineman also says that there should be no excuses in dealing with the fiscal cliff deadline, even going as far as saying leaders should "be locked in a room" until a deal is made. If the deadline is not met, the tax increases will have an affect on everybody, says the governor.
Today was his first stop on his trip around the state, he then spoke in Grand Island before attending tonight's Husker volleyball game.
