Not too much sounds better on a cold winter night than a bowl of soup for a good cause.
People in the Panhandle flocked to the Rural Fire Department last night for a bowl, or two of their favorite soup. The department is made up of solely volunteers and this is their large way of affording better equipment to serve the public. Event organizers are thankful for the public's support.
"We're all Volunteer Fire Department so this is our way to raise money for new equipment and things like that," says volunteer Bekki Zitterkopf.
The Fire Department also says to look out for their pancake meal in a few months.
