Posted: Updated:

One Panhandle museum is getting in the Christmas spirit with a competition.

It's the 9th Annual Christmas Tree Decorating Contest at the North Platte Valley Museum, this year the museum has a record of 29 decorated Christmas trees.

Each tree represents a different organization, the contest is a fundraiser for the museum and its participating nonprofit organizations.

Museum visitors can vote for their favorite tree for $1.00.

Proceeds from the voting are split between the museum and the organization.

Katie Bradshaw, the Director of the museum says it's her favorite time of the year.

"Well this is our slow season at the museum, typically and this contest brings in a lot of customers to the museum and it's great because a lot of them haven't been to the museum before."

The top three trees picked by visitors win some extra cash for their organizations.
