University of Nebraska Basketball player found guilty of faking hate crime

Posted: Updated:

A former University of Nebraska Lincoln Basketball star enters a guilty plea for faking a hate crime.

34 year old Charlie Rogers claims she was attacked by men who carved anti gay slurs into her arms and stomach.

Rogers' Attorney says she maintains her innocence but doesn't want to go through court.

Rogers was found guilty after entering a plea which allowed her to not admit guilt.

She faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Police believe she faked the attack thinking it would spark some change.
