Knights of Columbus wrapping for the needy

Posted: Updated:

The gifts are donated, they are sorted, and now they are ready to be wrapped.

For more than 30 years, the Scottsbluff chapter of the Knights of Columbus has helped wrapped gifts to be given to those in need.

Last night, the first round of volunteers stared down a massive pile of toys, stuffed animals, and other presents.

This year 319 kids will receive gifts from generous donations from people across the area.

Members like Dan Gilbert say they keep doing it each year for the kids. "But it's also an opportunity for everybody to share in one activity and see the wonderful accomplishments that a lot of people can do."

Pete Wylie says this massive project could not be done alone. "It involves a lot of different organizations, and a lot of people in the community."

Volunteers should have *everything* wrapped by the end of the week, and then will be ready for delivery.
