Seven homes across the panhandle will get some much needed upgrades, thanks to a sizeable grant from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
$200,000 has been set aside for Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska.
The money is targeted at households at-or-below 80 percent of the area median family income.
Rehab work will include upgrades to electric, plumbing and heating systems.
"We're really happy to be the lead agency on these particular set of funds," explains Jennifer Rogers, "And we look forward to help families make sure their homes are safer and healthy and that we have some great places to live out here."
Homes that are eligible for the grants must be in Cheyenne, Deuel, Garden, Kimball, Morrill and Scotts Bluff Counties.
