Posted: Updated:

Tis' the season for family and friends to visit, and one Panhandle attraction is having night hours to accommodate.

The Scotts Bluff National Monument is opening its summit for people to look at the counties Christmas lights.

Tonight and tomorrow night the monument will be open from 4:30 until 9:00.

Park Ranger A.J. Legault says it's one of his favorite times of year, and you'd be surprised at how many lights you can see from the summit's peak.

Legault says it's a special opportunity for residents to bring their guests to do something unique.

"As the holiday draws close, we know that a lot of people here in town have guests visiting from out of town. It's just that something special that they can give to their visitors and family while their here."

Legault says if you want to walk the trail this evening to dress accordingly and bring a flashlight.
