Cindy Lou Hou and the Grinch are joining opponents of the Keystone XL Pipeline this holiday season.
The opponents are pushing to keep the pipeline away from the Ogallala Aquifer.
Their new efforts include the two fictional Dr. Suess characters, who will visit Governor Dave Heineman on Christmas Eve Day.
The Grinch and Cindy Lou Hoo will bring the Governor gifts symbolizing landowner rights.
The pipeline's opponents want Heineman to deny state approval for the project.
The pipeline would carry oil from Canada to Texas refineries.
Heineman expects a recommendation from Nebraska's Environmental Quality Agency by early January.
