If saving money is your New Years Resolution, it may get a kick start at the gas pump.
Nebraska's tax on every gallon of fuel sold in the state will see a decrease in the New Year.
The Nebraska Department of Revenue says the tax will go down from the current 26.2 cents to 24.6 cents per gallon.
This tax money goes to highway projects and maintenance.
Every cent of fuel tax makes up more than $11 million in revenue annually for Nebraska.
The new rate will be effective until July of 2013 when it's reset.
