North Platte Valley Museum announces Christmas Tree competition winners

Posted: Updated:

A KOTA Territory museum is filled with unique Christmas trees, but only one is a lucky winner.

The North Platte Valley Museum's Christmas tree decorating contest has set a record this season.

With 29 trees to choose from, this year's first place prize went to the Daughters of the American Revolution's tree, with education themed ornaments.

The prize was $100.00.

The second place title and $50.00 went to the Scottsbluff Questers.

And in third was the Scotts Girls Questers for their Nativity scene theme, winning $25.00.

More than 500 museum visitors cast votes over three weeks to determine the winners.

The 29 organizations will be awarded half of the ticket sales proceeds, and the rest will go to the museum.
