Eaglemed helping Scottsbluff airport make quota

Posted: Updated:

The addition of a new flight service helped one KOTA Territory airport hit its target number of passenger boarding's.

Western Nebraska Regional Airport just hit the 10,000 boarding mark this month; qualifying them for one million dollars in federal funding.

Airport Director Darwin Skelton says the addition of Eaglemed Medical Transport Service as part of the airports operations helped.

"September, October is when they came in," explains Skelton. "But like I said, now we'll have them on an ongoing basis, and those numbers should continue to rise for us from them."

Skelton says that having Eaglemed year round- as well as semi–annual casino charter flights should make the 10,000 boarding's easily obtainable.

The airport had not met the 10,000 boarding threshold since 2008.
