Two Native American groups will get together in Whiteclay this evening, protesting alcohol sales.
The Ogata Dakota women and Deep Green Resistance groups will try to stop alcohol sold in Nebraska from reaching the Pine Ridge Reservation, where it is banned.
The groups say they will set up a blockade on the reservation's southern border starting at 9 PM. Alcohol sales in Whiteclay have long been a concern for the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
Last year alone the town sold the equivalent of 4.3 million 12 ounce cans of beer.
