Nebraska State Patrol troopers made their presence known on New Year's Eve.
It was all in an effort to deter people from drinking and driving. And it paid off.
It was a relatively quiet night for troopers in the Troop "E" area.
Three 'DWI' arrests were made during the New Year's holiday.
"Traditionally, New Years Eve isn't the best time of year for us for drunk driving," explains Lt. Jamey Balthazor. "Frankly, most people are aware we're out there in force that night; and they make arrangements for a designated driver."
Troop E" did participate in the national "You Drink- You Drive- You Lose" campaign that ran from mid-December through New Year's Eve. 20 people were arrested for d-w-I during that time.
