Two men from Scotts Bluff County are continuing their journey as public servants.

This morning, Ken Meyer and Steve Stratton were sworn in for their third term as County Commissioners.

District Judge Leo Dobrovolny administered the oath.

Both commissioners say they keep running for office to help better serve the people in Scotts Bluff County.

"Not that the title carries a lot of clout with it," explains Stratton, "But if I come down and say ‘We've got a problem- let's see what we can do', nine times out of 10, if it's resolvable, it's taken care of within just a matter of days." Stratton also adds that he enjoys providing a voice for his constituents- who reside outside of city limits.

"We're not here to try and run things," adds Meyer. "That's not our job. We're here just to put in our time and try to make things better. That's all we're trying to do."

The remaining three county commissioners were all sworn in two years ago, and are halfway through their current term.
