Johanns makes priorities for 2013

Posted: Updated:

U.S. Senator Mike Johanns sets his priorities for 2013.

Now that an agreement has been reached to avoid the so called "fiscal cliff," the republican says there is still a lot of work ahead.

"This package is a vast improvement from where the administration started," said Johanns. "And no one can overlook the fact that it does protect 99% of Nebraskans and Americans from being hit with more than $530 billion in tax hikes."

Johanns says that now that tax hikes are off the table it's time to focus on the real problems.

The Republican says he will do all he can to strengthen the economy, reduce spending, and reign in the debt.

However Johanns says this uphill battle cannot be achieved without bi-partisan support
