Police say 2008 murder remains active investigation

Posted: Updated:

Scottsbluff police continue to follow leads in a murder that took place five years ago this week.

On January 2, 2008, police found Jason Vesper's body in his pick-up truck with multiple stab wounds.

Since that night, Scottsbluff Police and Vesper's family have searched for the person who committed the murder.

Surveillance footage shows a vehicle following vesper's pickup , and police have been able to narrow down the possible year, make and model of the vehicle.

Acting Police Chief Kevin Spencer says leads continue to come in, and just a few key missing pieces to the puzzle are slowing the investigation.

"We have a tremendous amount of information with the video," explains Spencer. "We know the how, the what, and then when. We just don't know the who and the why yet."

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to a conviction in the murder of Jason Vesper.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 632-7867.
