Statistics are showing that there is one good thing coming out of the flu season this year.
Before the season started there was speculation that the current flu vaccine would not do a great job at stopping the disease. Health Officials are saying the opposite.
No vaccines are ever going to be one hundred percent but it does show that if a patient receives a flu shot, they are either not getting the flu or a much milder case. Those statistics hold true here in the Panhandle.
"Out of all the influenza that the state has tested, I think there's only been four that have been, it's a novel strain that we saw through the state fairs last year, but out of hundreds and hundreds," says Registered Nurse Sandy Preston.
Preston also says that Regional West has plenty of the flu vaccines available.
