Trial begins for convicted sex offender accused of touching 9-year-old girl

A jury has been selected… and the first of a two day trial gets underway for a scottsbluff man charged with sexual assault of a child.

52-year-old Timothy Fuentes is accused of inappropriately touching a nine- year-old girl during an incident that took places this past August.

Judge Randy Lippstreu will hear testimony from 16 different witnesses… including the victim.

Fuentes is already a registered sex offender after being convicted in Scotts Bluff County in 2007.

If he is found guilty, Fuentes will face a maximum of 50 years in prison with a minimum of five years imprisonment.
