A University of Lincoln program is teaming up with Scottsbluff High School to give kids the opportunity to learn Chinese, one of the fastest growing languages in the world.
For the past two years, the high school has offered Chinese as part of a pilot program.
This week the school decided they would continue to participate for three more years.
Assistant Principal Matt Huck says the students enjoy the class.
"Chinese being the fastest growing language in the U.S., foreign language, secondary language, it was natural for us to implement this."
About 1/5 of the world speaks some form of Chinese as its native language, making it the language with the most native speakers.
