Students show praise for Scottsbluff High School's Chinese program

Posted: Updated:

A KOTA Territory High School Program receives praise from its students in more than one language.

Scottsbluff High School teamed up with the University of Nebraska Lincoln's Confucius Institute, to start a Chinese language program.

The school has renewed the program for three more years, after receiving an overwhelming response from students.

Leah Wright, a Junior in the program, was granted the opportunity to visit china to strengthen her language skills.

Wright says the Chinese program has been enriching.

"It was amazing, it was this Summer for 16 days and I really got to learn more that I wouldn't have known about China."

Wright says she hopes the schools continue the program so other students can have the same experience.
