A new trend is starting to alarm many veterinarians across the country.
The study shows that pet owners are taking their pets to the vets less often. The study didn't offer and specific reason but Midtown Veterinarian Darcy Schlothauer says that money is tight is many families and sometimes pets don't get the care they need.
However she says that those trends haven't affected the area.
"Certainly I think nationwide that's a trend that goes along with the economy we fortunately haven't not really appreciated it here," says Schlothauer.
Schlothauer says pets should be in for checkups at least two times a year.
