The Transportation Security Administration confirms it will remove all "Backscatter" imaging machines by summer.
There's more than 170 of these scanners in 30 different airports across the country.
The "Backscatter" scanners provide a full body image of the traveler that can see underneath clothing.
The technology has been controversial when it comes to privacy and safety.
But Traveler Adam Lancaster says he'd rather be safe than sorry.
"I think it's good to have something that would definitely find things for us, because I don't want to be on a plane with someone with a bomb."
The T.S.A plans to roll out more millimeter wave body scanners, which only show an image of a stick figure.
