Important dates looming for those yet to complete GED

Posted: Updated:

For those in the process of obtaining a GED, there's important information to consider.

The ten year general educational development testing cycle will come to an end at the end of this year, prompting warnings from Western Nebraska Community College to get those tests finished if you haven't already done so.

Educational Outreach Director Marilyn Dodge says it's GED policy not to allow previous tests after the new curriculum is in place.

Failure to obtain a GED by the end of the year will result in new tests and a reset in status.

"WNCC has sponsored this GED program for many, many years and they find it very, very valuable for helping people finish getting their high school credential and getting a job," says Dodge.

Dodge says GED classes are given once a month at the Harms center.
