A Colorado man is sentenced to up to 10 years in prison on two felon in possession of a firearms charges.
23-year-old Bruno Hernandez was sentenced to 3 to 5 years on each count.
In December, 2011, Hernandez was arrested at the Super 8 in Scottsbluff. Officers found rifles, ammunition and drugs in the room. He was initially wanted on a failure to appear charge of attempted first degree murder.
Hernandez was in County Court on Wednesday for assaulting a prisoner while he was in Scotts Bluff County Jail. That charge is a Class III A felony. Judge Kris Mickey ruled that there the state proved enough burden to bound the case over to district court.
A hearing date for the assault charge has been set for February 1st in Scotts Bluff County District Court.
